Native American, Southwest, New Mexico, Santa Clara Pueblo, ca. early to mid 20th century CE. A petite ceramic duck with a wonderful red, lustrous finish, painted white wings, and eyes, and an unglazed bill (with a painted white line to demarcate upper from lower sections of the beak) that provides a wonderful contrast. "Quack, quack, waddle, waddle," so endearing and made by a clearly gifted artist of the Santa Clara Pueblo. Size: 2.5" L x 1.75" W x 2.125" H (6.4 cm x 4.4 cm x 5.4 cm)

Condition: Denver Art Museum accession number handwritten on bottom.
