Lot 30, Auction 5/30/2017: 18th C. Nepalese Bronze Bell - Nice Design Motif

South Asia, Nepal, ca. 18th century CE. Simple yet elegant, a beautiful bronze bell with twin loops for attachment, the body with an abstract decoration that interestingly looks like a facade featuring a colonnade of Ionic columns. Fortunately, the clapper is still present, so it is quite functional. Custom stand. Size: 3.375" W x 2.875" H (8.6 cm x 7.3 cm); 3.75" H (9.5 cm) on stand

Condition: Expected surface wear. Wonderful patina. Bell still has clapper and sounds wonderful!

Provenance: private Allen Davis collection, Santa Fe, New Mexico
